This elegant first communion dress was made for my niece's special day.
It is a copied replica of the dress that her grandmother wore for her
first communion. I was given a photograph that showed the upper bodice
of my sister-in-law's dress that she wore. It was originally made of
cotton organdy and batiste. The front puffed panel on the bodice was
edged in Swiss embroidered eyelet. I recreated this look with 100%
cotton batiste. The shirtwaist dress was gathered onto a batiste skirt
that has bands of Swiss embroideries and tucks accenting the skirt.
